The defending champions, Gujarat Titans, have had a superb start to their IPL season 16 campaign. They have played six matches, winning four and earning eight points. Gujarat Titans have been performing well in every department, with impressive performances in batting, bowling, and fielding. After snatching a victory from LSG in a low-scoring match, Gujarat’s confidence is sky-high, and they will look to dominate MI in their forthcoming match.

On the other hand, five-time champions Mumbai Indians have had a mixed start to this IPL season. They have won three and lost three out of their six games so far. Mumbai’s batting has been impressive with the likes of Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan, Cameron Green, and Suryakumar Yadav in fine form. However, their bowling has been lacking in the absence of key players like Jasprit Bumrah and Jofra Archer. Nevertheless, Arjun Tendulkar’s performance in the last over against Sunrisers Hyderabad helped save 20 runs.

Narendra Modi Stadium Pitch Report

The Narendra Modi Stadium, also known as the Motera Stadium, in Ahmedabad, is serving as the home ground for Gujarat Titans this season. Unfortunately, Gujarat has lost two games at their home ground so far this season.

The fast bowlers are expected to reap the benefits of a helpful bowling pitch at the Narendra Modi Stadium. The surface offers more bounce and the quick bowlers have been able to exploit this to the fullest extent. Those who bowl with a strong hitting of the deck are likely to pick up more wickets on this pitch.

It is currently Indian summer, and the temperatures are expected to be very hot during the day, ranging from 39°C to 42°C in April. However, it is expected to be slightly cooler at night, with temperatures dropping to as low as 24°C to 28°C. There may also be some summer rains in the beginning of April and middle of May.

A total of 22 IPL matches have been played at this venue, with the chasing team winning 13 times and the team batting first winning 8 times. One match ended in no result.

The average first-inning score at this venue is 164 runs. The highest total ever recorded here is 204 runs, which Gujarat Titans achieved. On the other hand, the lowest total ever recorded at this venue was 102 runs, which Rajasthan Royals scored against Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2014.

It is expected that both teams will aim to win the toss and bowl first in Ahmedabad. With the strong batting lineups of both teams, a high-scoring match seems likely.
