Mumbai Indians coach 2024

Mahela Jayawardene, the former Sri Lankan captain, who previously served as Mumbai Indians’ head coach from 2017 to 2022, was promoted to the role of global head of performance at the franchise in 2022. Likewise, Zaheer Khan, formerly the director of cricket operations, was promoted to the position of global head of cricket development.

Mark Boucher, the former head coach of South Africa’s men’s cricket team was appointed as the head coach of Mumbai Indians ahead of IPL 2023, succeeding Mahela Jayawardene. Boucher, a legendary Proteas wicketkeeper, will continue to lead the five-time champions as head coach in IPL 2024.

In addition, Kieron Pollard, a veteran player for Mumbai Indians, will retain his role as batting coach, while Lasith Malinga, another former player, will take charge of the bowling department, replacing Shane Bond, the former New Zealand pacer.

MI 2024 Batting Coach

Kieron Pollard, the dynamic all-rounder and longtime player for Mumbai Indians will continue as the batting coach for the team in the 2024 season. The West Indian have played 123 ODIs and 101 T20I matches for his country and amassed 2706 and 1569 runs respectively. In T20 format, he has a experience of 658 games where he has scored 12896 runs. 

MI 2024 Bowling Coach

Mumbai Indians officially announced the appointment of Lasith Malinga, the former Sri Lankan pace bowler, as their new bowling coach. Malinga stepped into this role, succeeding the former New Zealand pacer Shane Bond, as confirmed by the Indian Premier League franchise on Friday.

Malinga, who retired from international cricket in 2021, took on coaching responsibilities in preparation for the upcoming season. He joined a coaching team rich in experience, led by Mark Boucher and his former teammate, the hard-hitting Kieron Pollard. This coaching team was poised to bring valuable knowledge and expertise to the franchise, which has enjoyed immense success in the IPL.

MI 2024 Fielding Coach

In IPL 2024, Mumbai Indians enlisted James Pamment as their fielding coach, aiming to bolster their fielding prowess. Pamment brings a wealth of experience to the role, having previously served as the fielding coach for various teams, including Mumbai Indians and the West Indies national team. His coaching journey began in New Zealand, where he worked with domestic teams before transitioning to international cricket.
