Dhoni’s onslaught took place in the 20th over when Sam Curran bowled a short delivery outside the off-stump, which Dhoni dismissed over backward point for a six. He then followed it up by smashing a full toss over mid-wicket, leaving the home crowd ecstatic. Dhoni remained unbeaten on 13 runs off just four deliveries.

Dhoni has played the role of finisher to perfection this season, scoring 74 runs at a strike rate of 211.42, including eight sixes. His clinical batting performance has helped CSK maintain their dominance in the league so far.

The opening batter Devon Conway also played a vital role in helping CSK post a mammoth total on board. The Kiwi batter scored an unbeaten 92 off 52 balls at a strike rate of 176.92, including 16 boundaries and a six.

Ruturaj Gaikwad and Shivam Dube also contributed with the bat, scoring 37 off 31 deliveries and 28 off 17 deliveries, respectively.

For PBKS, Arshdeep Singh, Sam Curran, Rahul Chahar, and Sikandar Raza managed to bag one wicket each.

Talking about Punjab’s chase, the visitors are currently behind the asking run rate with 3 wickets down. Skipper Shikhar Dhawan departed after scoring a 15-ball 28. Opener Prabhsimran Singh, who came in as an impact player, played an impressive knock of 42 before getting dismissed off Ravindra Jadeja’s delivery. Currently, Atharva Taide and Liam Livingstone are at the middle.
