The CSK players arrived in their hometown last week to start getting ready for the upcoming IPL season. The Super Kings will play the Gujarat Titans, the defending champions, on March 31 at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium to kick off the new season. In the previous season, CSK’s fortunes were far different from those of the Titans; they finished ninth in the standings with just four victories in 14 games, and they’ll be striving for a good recovery in 2023.

After quitting international cricket in 2020, Dhoni still serves as the captain of CSK in the IPL. The following season will be his last as he draws closer to finishing his IPL career. The Chennai Super Kings’ longtime backup for Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, was elected captain last year, but the choice was changed midway through the campaign.
