Most Runs in T20: Babar Azam chasing Virat Kohli’s record – Kohli got to 3000 runs in T20 internationals in 81st innings. There is very little to separate between the two modern-day greats. The only thing that puts Kohli ahead is his average and strike rate. Among the top five highest run-getters in T20 internationals, Kohli is the only batter to average above 50. The former India captain also has a better strike rate than Azam. Kohli strikes at 138 compared to Azam’s 130. In recent times, the legendary India batter has started to bat ultra-aggressively in the game’s shortest format.
There is constant criticism with the Pakistani skipper that he does not accelerate once he gets his eye in. Against England in the fifth T20I, Azam has a chance to rewrite history. If he gets to 61 runs then the right-hand batter will go past Kohli’s fastest to 3000 runs.
Kohli is also set to play his 100th T20I innings against South Africa. During the Asia Cup 2022, the former India skipper played the 100th T20 international match against Pakistan. Now, he is set for another 100 in his already glittering career.
