Most ODI Centuries: Virat Kohli hits 48th ton, one away from Sachin Tendulkar

The record-breaker Virat Kohli has moved closer to the magic number 50 centuries in ODIs. With 48th ton, he is now one ton away from equalling Sachin Tendulkar.

Virat Kohli is now just a century away from equalling the great Sachin Tendulkar in ODIs. King Kohli hit his 48th ODI ton in IND vs BAN (India vs Bangladesh) Cricket World Cup game to move a step closer. It is his 78th international century.

Sachin Tendulkar has 49 centuries in ODIs while Virat Kohli now has 48. A dream that seemed like impossible is now closer to reality.

“I wanted to make a big contribution. Have made fifties in World Cups, wanted to finish it off this time. I was telling Shubman that even if you dream about this situation, you go back to sleep. It was a dream start. It just calms you down. The pitch was good and allowed me to play my game, hit the gaps and find the boundaries whenever I could. Great atmosphere in the dressing room. The spirit is there for everyone to see. You need to create some momentum in the changing room to come out and play like this. Special feeling to play in front of such crowds,” Virat Kohli said after the match.
