Man City winger Jack Grealish signed the most lucrative boot contract ever handed to an English footballer. Grealish was associated with Nike since his teenage days and he now moved to Puma with a deal of £10million-a-season.
Puma has already appointed Man City boss Pep Guardiola as an ambassador and they have supplied City’s kit for four years.
Puma’s Head of Sports Marketing Johan Adamsson states, “We want to make Jack one of the most important brand faces in football and culture.” He also added on Grealish, “His position opens up opportunities to work with many of our fashion initiatives and to collaborate with him on his many personal causes.”

Ronaldo’s biggest rival from Argentina, Lionel Messi is associated with Adidas since 2006 when he just started his initial career with Barcelona. His deal with the company is worth about £18m-a-year. He recently won the FIFA World Cup for Argentina and since then, his popularity increased heavily.

Neymar is currently number one in the contract of the boot brand. The Brazilian has a contract with Puma worth a whopping £23m-per-year, the largest-ever individual sponsorship contract in sports history. He was connected with Nike for the majority of his career but he moved to Puma in 2020 after breaking a 9-year relationship with Nike.
Neymar showed his preference for Puma by saying, “I grew up watching films of great football icons like Pele, Johan Cruyff, Lothar Matthaus, Eusebio, and Diego Maradona, who each played in Puma. I wish to bring back then legacy that those athletes created on the pitch.”
