Novak Djokovic is the No.1 seed in the tournament and he is placed in the first quarter of the draw. He has received a bye in the first round and will face either of Davidovich Fokina or Marcos Giron in the first round.
In the same quarter, the other top seed is the 18-year old Spanish sensation Carlos Alcaraz. Alcaraz too has received a bye and will kickstart his campaign against either Sebastian Corda or Botic van de Zandschulp. With Djokovic and Alcaraz having a possibility of meeting in the quarterfinals, the expectations for this contest have already begun.

Casper Ruud, who finished as the runner up at the Miami Open, has been seeded fourth at Monte Carlo and he leads the second quarter. He will straightaway play in the second round and has the possibility of facing Aslan Karatsev in his opening encounter.
Meanwhile, Cameron Norrie, the seventh seed is the next big seed in the same quarter. The other seeded players in this draw includes 11th seed Hubert Hurcasz and 15th seed Nicoloz Basilashvili. Hubert Hurcasz takes on Gael Monfils in the first round, while Basilashvili will be up against Grigor Dimitrov.

Defending champion Stefanos Tsitsipas, has been seeded third and he leads the third quarter. This draw looks comparatively easier. Tsitsipas could face the winner between Fabio Fognini and Arthur Rinderknech in the second round. He would probably meet Felix Auger Aliassime in the quarterfinals. Aliassime is seeded sixth and he would face one among Benoit Paire and Lorenzo Musetti in his opening contest.

While Sinner takes on Borna Coric in the opening round, Rublev has received a bye and is likely to face Alex de Minaur in his opening round. Zverev meanwhile will face either a qualifier or Federico Delbonis in the second round.
