Mohun Bagan vs Bashundhara Kings ON as scheduled after Bangladeshi side get VISA

Mohun Bagan vs. Basundhara Kings in the AFC Cup 2023-24 is scheduled to be played  as planned after the Bangladeshi team's VISA situation is resolved.

Mohun Bagan Super Giant vs Bashundhara Kings AFC Cup 2023-24 encounter is set to be played as scheduled. The match was under uncertainty after Bashundhara Kings had failed to secure their required VISAs to travel to India. However, the fiasco has been sorted. Mohun Bagan vs Bashundhara Kings will be played on October 24th at Kalinga Stadium.

According to the AFC Cup 2023-24 guidelines, the Bangladesh team was expected to arrive on Sunday morning. However, they were unable to board the flight from Dhaka due to a delay in obtaining visas.

The club had issued a statement earlier in the day stating that it would be unable to play the match against the Kolkata-based team. It was named as a result of “lack of communication and helpfulness” from AIFF and the Indian Embassy in Bangladesh. However, the Bashundhara Kings have finally received their visa for the AFC Cup group round encounter.

The problem was ultimately rectified about 9 p.m. on the same day that the travelling contingent’s visas were finally given. Organising 40 tickets for India during Durga Puja was, however, a challenge. Because it has two matches in India, the Bangladesh club requested a double entry visa. The AIFF, on the other hand, had issued an invitation for a single submission.

“We have got visa late at 8pm today. It’s festive season and getting tickets for 40 people is becoming difficult,” club president Mohammad Imrul Hassan told PTI from Dhaka.

“Our team is trying its best to arrange the tickets. We are hopeful of making it and reaching Bhubaneswar on the eve of the match.”

The match against Mohun Bagan is scheduled to begin at 9.30 p.m. on Tuesday. It is the second match of the day, after Odisha’s encounter versus Maziya of the Maldives. Mohun Bagan will again play Bashundhara Kings on November 7 in the reverse fixture. Bashundhara Kings have played two games thus far in the competition, winning one against Odisha and losing the other against Maziya.
