Mohun Bagan Super Giant UNVEILS new home kit for 2023-24 season

Defending Indian Super League (ISL) champions Mohun Bagan Super Giant on Tuesday unveiled new home kit for the 2023-24 season. The new kit retains the iconic Green and Maroon combination.

Club’s owner, Dr. Sanjiv Goenka alongside new signings Anirudh Thapa and Jason Cummings unveiled the new kit.

During the unveiling, Goenka talked about the new jersey and the meaning behind it.

“The jersey serves as a unifying symbol, fostering a strong bond between the players and the passionate supporters who are a part of the Mohun Bagan Super Giant family. Together we will continue this journey of excellence and achievement” Goenka said during launch.

Mariners to face Bangladesh Army in Durand Cup opener

Meanwhile, Mohun Bagan SG will face Bangladesh Army in Durand Cup opening game on August 3. The 132nd edition of the Durand Cup is set to take place between August 3 and September 3.

The 24 teams, who are participating in the tournament, have been divided in 6 groups. Mohun Bagan SG is in Group A alongside Bangladesh Army an East Bengal.

Group A: Bangladesh Army, East Bengal, Mohun Bagan SG, Punjab FC
Group B: Indian Navy, Jamshedpur FC, Mohammedan SC, Mumbai City FC
Group C: Bengaluru FC, Gokulam Kerala, Indian Air Force, Kerala Blasters
Group D: Downtown Heroes, FC Goa, NorthEast United FC, Shillong Lajong
Group E: Chennaiyin FC, Delhi FC, Hyderabad FC, Nepal Services
Group F: Bodoland, Indian Army, Odisha FC, Rajasthan United

The Mariners have made some exciting new signings and would be hoping for another successful season.

The club has signed three Indian national team stars – Sahal Abdul Samad, Thapa, and Anwar Ali.

However, the club’s marquee signing has been Jason Cummings, who represented Australia in the 2022 World Cup and had a succesfull stint in A-League.

The Mariners are looking strong this season and would be determined to carry on their winning momentum in upcoming season.
