Mohammed Shami, Prasidh Krishna likely to get going in IND vs SL

Mohammed Shami & Prasidh Krishna might come in place of Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj in India's clash against Sri Lanka. Asia Cup. Rohit Sharma might rest Bumrah & Siraj due to fatigue

Less than 15 hours after they beat Pakistan in Colombo yesterday, India will next battle it out with Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup Super 4 fixture. With the match going on a reserve day, Rohit Sharma & Co don’t have much of a time for a breather. So the skipper might make some changes to the bowling side. There are high chances that Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna might get a look in.

The duo could come in place of Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj. Both the bowlers are vital for India heading into the ODI World Cup. Bumrah has just returned after a long injury layoff. While Siraj is back after undergoing a small niggle in his ankle. Risking two of India’s premier pacers might not be a good option, considering the World Cup is just less than 30 days away.

Prasidh has also made a comeback after a lower-stress fracture. He played three T20Is against Ireland preceding the Asia Cup and bowled well. Shami played one game against Pakistan in the Group Stage of the Asia Cup, but he was not in rhythm. India are currently leading on top of the points table, and they will look to consolidate against the Lankans.

Prasidh Krishna Shami likely to be given chance against Sri Lanka

A win against Sri Lanka will help India put one foot in the final of the Continental Cup. After dominating Pakistan, India would repeat the same dose to the Lankans. However, players’ fitness will be vital, and Dravid and Rohit would not want to risk their man bowlers. On the other hand, they could also want Bumrah and Siraj to have as much rhythm as possible ahead of the World Cup. Bumrah has only played one ODI, where he has bowled a lot of overs.

So Dravid and Rohit might as well want to test his fitness considering the matches in the World Cup will come back to back.
