Now things have been further complicated by the injuries of midfielders Mohammed Rafique and Darren Sidoel. Both suffered hamstring injuries in the previous encounter against Chennaiyin FC.

Coach Manolo Diaz has already mentioned that Jackichand Singh is not yet ready while quite a few players like Adil Khan are not yet ready to play for the entire duration of 90 minutes due to their fitness levels.
“We started our preparations quite late as compared to other teams. We also have a very demanding schedule wherein we play almost every three days. We need to keep changing our squad and try to keep players refreshed,” coach Manolo Diaz commented during the pre-match conference ahead of their game against FC Goa.
Even the return dates of the injured players have not been mentioned by the team management and it remains to be seen when the coach can finally claim that SC East Bengal are fully injury-free.
