Chasing a target of 154, Bhilwara Kings were off to a poor start. Naman Ojha and William Porterfield departed in the first two overs. But Nick Crompton and Tanmay Srivastava took charge, adding 46 runs for the third wicket to stop the slump. After Crompton fell, Yusuf Pathan anchored the innings with Srivastava.

But Kings lost wickets at regular intervals in the middle overs. Rajesh Bishnoi, Irfan Pathan both departed with runs difficult to come by. In the end, it was up to Yusuf to take Kings home with 44 needed off last 4. Yusuf hammered 44 off 28 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes to light the stadium up. However with Ryan Sidebottom removing Yusuf in the 19th over, the target looked difficult to get.
Then came Tino Best. Not known for his batting, it was the power of his willow that propelled Kings home. Best hammered 2 fours and a six in the last over to chase the target down with two balls to spare. Ryan Sidebottom was the most successful bowler for Tigers with 3 wickets for 38 runs.
Earlier, sent to bat, Manipal Tigers too were off to a disastrous start. Ravikant Shukla, Swapnil Asnodkar and Corey Anderson departed with the scorecard reading 9/3. Soon, Ricardo Powell too was dismissed by Fidel Edwards as Tigers were 15/4.

But then came an epic fightback from Mohammad Kaif. First, he partnered with Tatenda Taibu to stop the slide. After Taibu was dismissed, he continued to plunder Kings attack with 10 boundaries. In the end, Pradeep Sahu hammered 19-ball 30 while Shivakant Shukla smashed 12-ball 16 to take Tigers to 153/7.
