UFC 286: Leon Edwards vs Kamaru Usman 3 main card preview and prediction

Justin Gaethje vs Rafael Fiziev

One fight that could definitely steal the show on fight night is the Justin Gaethje vs Rafael Fiziev contest. Both fighters match up very evenly in their physical attributes. However, Fiziev can switch stances which might cause problems for Gaethje. And although both lightweights prefer striking, Gaethje lands a lot more per minute than Fiziev. However, Gaethje and Fiziev both are decent at wrestling. So it’ll be interesting to what route the fight follows.

Our prediction: Rafael Fiziev beats Justin Gaethje by knockout.

Gunnar Nelson vs Bryan Barberena

Another welterweight bout on the main card features Gunnar Nelson vs Bryan Barberena. Both fighters have almost identical physical attributes. However, Barberena fights in a southpaw stance. When we compare the numbers, Barberena lands way more per minute and is definitely the better striker. However, Nelson is easily the better wrestler.

Our prediction: Bryan Barberena beats Gunnar Nelson by TKO.

Jennifer Maia vs Casey O’Neill

Undefeated American Casey O’Neill also features on the UFC 286 main card. She will face experienced Jennifer Maia. O’Neill has the height and the reach advantage over the Brazilian. And while Maia has decent striking numbers, O’Neill lands more than twice the number of strikes per minute than Maia. Moreover, even when we consider the grappling stats, O’Neill has the better numbers.

Our prediction: Casey O’Neill beats Jennifer Maia by TKO.

Marvin Vettori vs Roman Dolidze

The UFC 286 main card kicks off with an interesting middleweight fight between Marvin Vettori and Roman Dolidze. Dolidze has a slight advantage in terms of physical attributes. And both fighters have fairly average striking numbers. However, both Vettori and Dolidze are wresting heavy fighters. Thus, we can expect a close wrestling contest between them.

Our prediction: Roman Dolidze beats Marvin Vettori by submission.
