Lapicus’ death was a result of an automobile accident, according to officials as well. Sherdog.com broke the news first. In accordance with that source, Lapicus passed away after going into a coma following a motorcycle accident this past weekend in Milan, Italy.

Lapicus (14-2, 1 NC) participated for ONE in bouts at lightweight and welterweight, most recently losing to Zebaztian Kadestam in a welterweight contest at ONE on Prime Video 1 this past August by first-round knockout. Lapicus has already sparred with former UFC and Bellator champion Eddie Alvarez, two-division champion Christian Lee, and former ONE champion Marat Gafurov before making that weight cut.

Luri Lapicus was a confident and competent striker. In 2014, Lapicus made his professional MMA debut, and he had since gone on to amass a perfect 12-0 record before joining ONE Championship alongside his training partners Giorgio and Armen Petrosyan. On the eve of major fights, he frequently visited Amsterdam to train with Gegard Mousasi, a legend in European MMA.
