MI: WPL 2023: Women’s Premier League –Mumbai Indians Squad assembled for their first-ever training session on Saturday (February 25) ahead of the inaugural edition of the Women’s Premier League. India and likely to be Mumbai Indians captain Harmanpreet Kaur will join the squad after the team’s exit from the T20 World Cup. Coach Charlotte Edwards addressed the players and was in a jovial mood. Mumbai Indians will kick off the WPL by playing against Gujarat Giants on March 4. MI WPL 2023: Coach Charlotte Edwards gives a pep talk to girls, Mumbai Indians begin preparation for WPL season – MI coach Edwards gave a pep talk to girls and had a fun interactive session. The former England player got to know local Indian players. Apart from Edwards, batting coach Devika Palshikar was also seen speaking with players.

MI have managed to assemble a strong squad and have players such as Nat Sciver, Amelie Kerr, Hayley Matthews, Chloe Tryon, and Heather Graham. Besides boasting of a strong foreign contingent, MI have also managed to bag a few of the upcoming Indian stars such as Dhara Gujjar, Priyanka Bala, Humairaa Kaazi, Jintimani Kalita, and Sonam Yadav. MI would be hoping to start WPL 2023 on a positive note.

WPL 2023 Sponsor: BCCI ropes in Dream11, Ceat, Amul as sponsors after the Tata deal

The BCCI have added three new brands to their sponsorship bag days after confirming the Tata Group as the title sponsor. Like Tata, Dream11, and CEAT, long-time IPL sponsors, have joined as partners for the Women’s Premier League. Dairy giant Amul has made its presence felt as BCCI continues to rake in big money before the first Women’s IPL season. 

As per reports, BCCI have roped in Dream11, Ceat Tyres, and Amul as partners for the Women’s Premier League. Long-time IPL partners Dream11 and CEAT have joined in the WPL bandwagon, pledging a combined Rs 10 crore every season. Amul meanwhile has pledged Rs 2.5 crore per season as a ‘pouring partner’. As the pouring partner, Amul will be the official beverage partner during the games.
