Kylian Mbappe grew up idolising Christiano Ronaldo. Hence, upon Messi’s arrival at PSG, how the bond between Mbappe and Messi would turn out to be was cloudy. Mbappe is also the top goalscorer for PSG in the Champions League with 34 goals. This season, till now, he has scored 30 goals throughout all competitions for PSG. He even became the top goalscorer of Ligue 1 in the last 4 seasons. The club celebrated Mbappe’s record-breaking 201st goal after their match against Nantes ended with a short ceremony.
During this celebratory ceremony in Parc des Princes, Mbappe said, “It’s very special to be here. The last time I was here was to announce I was staying [extending his contract], it’s an honour to be here as the club’s top scorer.” He added, “It’s a privilege to be a PSG player, to play in this historic shirt, for the biggest club in France.”
