Marco Verratti: PSG are in the process of a clearance this summer. They have been looking to offload players who, in their opinion, have no future at the club. Lionel Messi and Neymar too have been shown the exit door and have left the club. Now, they are looking to offload their veteran midfielder, Marco Verratti. The PSG UEFA official list of players eligible to participate in the Champions League group stage this year does not include Italy midfielder Marco Verratti. Verratti joining Qatari team Al-Arabi is now looking more and more realistic.

Marco Verratti close to leaving PSG
The Italian, Marco Verratti is close to leaving Paris-Saint Germain. Earlier this summer, reports suggested that he had changed his mind about going to the Middle East. But now, his next destination seems to be Qatari club, Al-Arabi.
According to RMC Sport, PSG is eager to get rid of the seasoned midfielder. He has been with the team for more than ten years. Luis Enrique, Marco Verratti’s manager, allegedly warned him earlier in the summer that he was unnecessary. Also, that he should explore for alternative opportunities.
Since then, Enrique has kept his word because the 30-year-old hasn’t made an appearance in the starting lineup at all this season.
In 276 Ligue 1 appearances, Marco Verratti has contributed to 49 goals. In the Champions League, he has three goals and nine assists.
Marco Verratti is coming off a trophy-laden PSG career that included nine Ligue 1 championships, nine French Super Cups, and one appearance in the Champions League Final.
Hugo Ekitike, a striker, like Marco Verratti, has apparently also been omitted off the list because PSG is upset with him for turning down a transfer to Eintracht Frankfurt. The young international for France was also informed that he was no longer wanted in the French capital but was not permitted to transfer to the Bundesliga, endangering PSG’s pursuit of Randal Kolo Muani.
Kylian Mbappe U-turn on contract talks
According to renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Marco Verratti’s teammate and Real Madrid target Kylian Mbappe are once again discussing a potential contract extension. After asserting earlier this July that he had no intention of extending his current deal beyond 2024, Mbappe, 24, became a hot focus of transfer speculation.
All summer long, it was reported that he was eager to move to Real Madrid, but nothing came of it. Romano asserted that the Real Madrid-linked star is in negotiations with his club regarding a new contract in his column for Caught Offside.

Romano said, ‘He’s finally in conversations with PSG about a new contract, something that in June and July didn’t happen. Mbappe’s camp is speaking to the club about the future and an extension is being discussed.‘
He also added, ‘Though nothing is completed yet. Also the terms of the potential extension are going to be crucial, like an exit clause for 2024.’
