Rashford has a belief that drives him every day, he wants to put food in front of every kid especially during the pandemic. He was well supported by his mother, Melanie who has also done great work in eradicating hunger and food poverty. Her efforts have seen a foodbank warehouse named after her.

The Manchester United forward took to social media in March 2020 to share about his fears of schools closing down and its effect on poverty-stricken children who would not get their daily meals. His constant campaign for vulnerable children and his mission to eradicate hunger have forced the United Kingdom government to change its policies over free school meals vouchers for underprivileged children.

The ceremony saw Rashford get his honour in a face to face meeting with Prince William. This was William’s first face to face investiture ceremony since the pandemic. In a tweet, the duke said he was “pleased to be back doing investitures in person” at the castle.

Marcus Rashford has scored 21 goals for the Red Devils last season but this campaign was not as smooth as this one. Rashford suffered a shoulder injury and could not play a big role in England’s journey to the finals of the European Championships. Therefore he underwent surgery and also missed the early part of the Premier League season.

However, he has returned now and is looking to start afresh. He scored his first goal of the season against Leicester City and then netted another in their 3-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur. The 24-year-old is gradually getting geared up and United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will need his services as the Red Devils are going through a rough patch.
