Mason Greenwood and Manchester United have mutually decided that he will leave the Premier League team in the near future. This comes after the internal inquiry conducted by the club has been completed. The unexpected U-turn follows online outrage that saw the club receive criticism from fans about the possibility of Greenwood returning.
” It has therefore been mutually agreed that it would be most appropriate for him to do so away from Old Trafford, and we will now work with Mason to achieve that outcome.” the club statement read.
After being detained, the striker was given a suspension and hasn’t played for the team since January 2022. On Tuesday, United was prepared to make the announcement that he was joining the team again.
