Man United helps Greenwood to rebuild his career, offers luxary villa in Spain

Mason Greenwood's loan contract includes an £8,000-a-month, six-bedroom city villa close to Getafe’s training ground and access to a private translator 24/7.

Mason Greenwood Future: The controversial Man United star will get a settled life as he attempts to rebuild his career with a loan move to Getafe. He will get a luxury Spanish villa paid for by Manchester United. Greenwood cracked the season-long loan deal with Getafe after agreeing to resume his football career away from the Premier League.

Man United confirmed last month that Greenwood will not play for the Red Devils again following the six-month internal investigation into rape and assault charges that were dropped. The Englishman was suspended by the club since his arrest in January 2022. Fans were also not in favour of seeing him back at Old Trafford.

Meanwhile, Man United finalised a rebuild plan for Mason Greenwood with a loan move to the Spanish club. His loan contract includes an £8,000-a-month, six-bedroom city villa close to Getafe’s training ground and access to a private translator 24/7. His family and friends can go there to give him company. His 53-year-old dad, Andrew is likely to move with him.

The 21-year-old Man United star is not giving up on his return to Old Trafford and he is willing to earn support by showing the best performance in La Liga. A source claimed: “He’s going on loan but remains a United player. It means the club has an ongoing duty of care to him and they’ve pledged to help him make a success of his move to Spain.

The Source also added, “The villa is big enough for friends and family to visit. They will get the opportunity to travel to see him as much as they can. It’s important he has a solid support network around him. The last thing they want is Mason isolated.”

Man United will play Mason Greenwood more than half of his £75,000-a-week wages while he is in Spain. As per the source, he’s happy he’s got himself a club in La Liga and can finally begin to put the last two years behind him. It also added that Greenwood is keen to focus on football and this is the first step towards the rebuilding process of his career. He wants to be the best version of himself on and off the ground.

Man United said the move would “enable Greenwood to begin to rebuild his career away from United”. It adds, “The club will continue to offer its support to Mason and his family during this period of transition.”

The Englishman was suspended by Man United after his arrest for sexual violence. However, they will show him full support during this period of transition. The allegation against him of rape and sexual assault was discontinued by prosecutors in February.

The club said the 21-year-old star would remain suspended on full pay while it conducted an internal investigation into his alleged behaviour. They issued a statement and they said they didn’t believe Greenwood had committed this and they didn’t get a full picture of this whole story so they took responsibility to give him faith in his transition.

The Old Trafford-based club added, “Throughout, we have taken into account the wishes of the alleged victim along with the club’s standards and values. It has been mutually agreed that Greenwood would find a new club.”

Mason Greenwood became a dad to a baby girl in July and admitted he needed to set a better example to become “a good father, a better person and to use my talents in a positive way on and off the pitch”. He has scored 35 goals in 129 matches for United and his last appearance in Reds came against West Ham in January 2022.
