Manchester United are looking to boost their midfield since the arrival of Mason Mount. And their next target is Leon Goretzka. Bayern Munich is planning to sell him this summer in a deal worth £43million.
The signing will not be easy as West Ham joined the race who are looking for the ideal replacement for Declan Rice. The Englishman moved to Arsenal for a record transfer fee.

Midfield is the part where Erik ten Hag wants solid players. Mason Mount’s arrival is a first step and he needs one more signing to solve this problem ahead of the new season. Bayern Munich wants to offload Leon Goretzka and Tuchel wants the right price for the German. He has set the asking price of £43m for the 28-year-old midfielder.
However, the battle will be interesting as David Moyes is also showing interest in signing the Bundesliga star. After the most expensive departure of Declan Rice, West Ham has money to invest in the Bayern Munich star.
Funding would also be in the mind of Erik ten Hag. Man United invested a good amount in Mason Mount who become one of the highest-paid players at Old Trafford. David de Gea has left the club and goalkeeper Andre Onana is likely to complete his £47m move on Tuesday.
Man United are also planning for Victor Osimhen, Rasmus Hojlund, and Randal Kolo Muani. If two of these three deals happen, then the club has to invest around £100m in the transfer window.
The 28-year-old Goretzka is keen to stay at the Allianz Arena but Thomas Tuchel wants to offload him. The Germany international has made 179 appearances across all competitions since his arrival in 2018. He won five league titles and one Champions League.
Bayern already decided to move on from him. They signed Konrad Laimer and Raphael Guerreiro, from RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund to boost their squad ahead of the new season.
