Manchester City have had the busiest schedule as they had to cover the less number of Premier League matches they played. They also had midweek Champions League matches which caused them to play matches in a 3-4 days gap most times. However, Man City are prevailing on all fronts in their treble chase mission. They have already progressed to the Champions League final. Now, if they win this weekend’s match against Chelsea, they will go 7 points ahead of second-placed Arsenal.
With only 2 matches left to play for both teams in the Premier League after that, there will be no way left for Arsenal to make a comeback. Hence, Man City will win the Premier League title for the third consecutive season if they win this match against Chelsea. Even though Man City will be playing to win their first trophy of the season, they will still have the task to prepare for three matches within 8 days. Hence, coach Pep Guardiola will probably be making a few changes to his main starting lineup.
Manchester City’s medical team are only looking after one single player in the entire squad. That is Nathan Ake who has missed their last three games because of a hamstring issue. Coach Guardiola could call up Aymeric Laporte to feature in the back line to give some rest to Kyle Walker on the right or Manuel Akanji on the left. Riyad Mahrez has scored four times in his last four matches for Man City. Hence, he could also come in the place of Bernardo Silva on the right side of the attacking line.

Whereas, the substitutes who put the last nail in the coffin against Real Madrid with a goal and an assist last Wednesday, respectively Julian Alvarez and Phil Foden, will also be pushing for a place in the starting XI. However, whether the coach will start them in a title-winning match remains a doubt. Especially because captain Ilkay Gundogan has been in tremendous form as he has now scored 4 goals in the last 2 games. Additionally, Kevin de Bruyne has registered 7 assists in his last 9 matches.
Hence, the coach will probably line up both Gundogan and De Bruyne in the forward line with Graelish and Mahrez. Erling Haaland who’s looking to break a few more records before the season ends will be ahead of them in the central forward position. Stones and Rodri will be holding the fort in the midfield while Walker, Dias, and Laporte will be behind them holding onto the defense line. Ederson will continue his job standing between the bars.
Manchester City Predicted XI: Ederson; Walker, Dias, Laporte; Stones, Rodri; Mahrez, De Bruyne, Gundogan, Grealish; Haaland
