Man City move closer to Mateo Kovacic:
With Chelsea and Manchester City apparently agreeing on a £34 million ($44 million) agreement, Mateo Kovacic has supposedly moved one step closer to joining Manchester City. Prior to his stunning transition, the Croatian has reached a personal agreement. Since the 2022–23 season came to an end, the Croatian international has been in negotiations with the Premier League winners.
It came after a lot of problems that are still being resolved. Chelsea is cognizant of the need to generate money this summer through sales after spending £600 million ($769 million) during the previous two window shopping seasons.
Arsenal continue their persuit of Declan Rice:
Declan Rice and Romeo Lavia are the prospective new midfielders for Arsenal for the next season. A fresh offer will be made for the outstanding West Ham United player, while negotiations for the Southampton youngster are progressing. Mikel Arteta saw that his team was occasionally outmatched physically in the latter stretch of the previous season and has worked to increase his team’s strength.
Rice has long been considered the key summer addition because of his unique approach, which is viewed as providing the club something fresh. For the 24-year-old, Arsenal has already had one bid rejected. However, a deal between Stamford Bridge and Arsenal may really materialise given that Kai Havertz is keen to transfer and Chelsea are prepared to offload the German in order to cut their overstuffed roster.
Mason Greenwood and David DE Gea retained by Man United:
Mason Greenwood, a striker for Manchester United, is listed on the team’s official list of players who have been signed on for the 2023–24 campaign. Greenwood, who is still suspended by the Red Devils as a result of an ongoing international inquiry, is on Erik ten Hag’s team’s roster of players they have kept.
Since his arrest in January 2022, Greenwood has not participated in any games for Manchester United. Charges for the attempted rape, the assault, and the use of coercive or controlling behaviour were dropped in February 2023, but Manchester United has not yet finished its internal inquiry. The striker has a deal with the Red Devils through 2025, but it is uncertain if he will stay at Old Trafford or whether the team will opt to part ways with him.
A new deal for David de Gea is still being discussed by Manchester United, who also confirmed the release of Phil Jones and Axel Tuanzebe. At the end of the month, De Gea’s contract expires, but United wants to keep him at Old Trafford.
