Team India new sensation Rinku Singh has credited MS Dhoni for his calmness in the death overs. It must be mentioned that Rinku Singh played an excellent cameo in the IND vs AUS 1st T20 to help his side cross the winning line. Speaking in video uploaded by BCCI, Rinku said that the situation was perfect for him when he came out to bat.
“It was a perfect situation for me when I went out to bat. I was staying calm and was just trying to repeat what I have been doing in these kinds of situations. There’s no specific reason for being calm. However, I talked to Mahi bhai (MS Dhoni) several times and he told me to stay focused and try to hit as straight as possible in the death overs,” said Rinku Singh.
Arshdeep told me about no ball: Rinku
With India needing 1 off the final ball, Rinku hit a straight six to power hosts to victory. However, the six was not counted as Sean Abbott had bowled a no-ball and the required run was achieved by its courtesy.
‘I did not know that it was a no-ball. I was told by Arshdeep Singh that it was not a legal delivery when i went back to the dressing room. However, it does not matter if the runs were given to me or not as long as we won,” added Rinku Singh.
With the win in 1st T20I, Team India have taken a 1-0 lead in the 5-match series. Both teams now will travel to Thiruvananthapuram for the 2nd T20I which will be played on November 26 at Greenfield Stadium. Rinku Singh will look to continue his good form with the bat in the second IND vs AUS encounter.
