After winning the US Open title last year, Raducanu haven’t had much success in 2022. Her best performance so far is a quarterfinal appearance at Stuttgartr Open, where she was defeated by Iga Swiatek. In other tournaments, she failed to reach even the quarterfinals. She even crashed out in the first round in three tournaments. She is looking to resurrect her season at clay courts this year.

Meanwhile, Kotsyuk haven’t had much success in the year. Her best performance so far is a third round appearance at the Australian Open. In other tournaments so far, she failed to go past the second round. She entered Madrid after a second round exit at Miami Open, where she lost to Belinda Bencic.
Raducanu vs Kostyuk Head-to-Head: This will be the second meeting between both the players in the WTA circuit. They last met in the Winners Open at Cluj Napoka, where Kostyuk defeated Raducanu 6-2, 6-1.
Though Raducanu enjoys a higher-ranking and also has a WTA title to her name, the upcoming contest will not be easy for her as Kostyuk will show a good fight. It will be an interesting contest between two nextgen players.
“All throughout juniors she was always the favourite when we played,” Raducanu said ahead of Sunday’s match. “She was considered much better. Yeah, it’s a funny one. When we played last year she played very good, but also I wasn’t very well that day. So it’ll be an interesting match-up.”
