LSG vs PBKS: Quinton de Kock – While Kyle Mayers made Quinton de Kock sit out in two consecutive games, the Caribbean Star may not get third time lucky as Quinton de Kock is likely to play for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) against Punjab Kings (PBKS) today. After scoring two blazing fifties against DC and CSK, the southpaw could score only 13, and 0 against SRH and RCB. With two consecutive failures, LSG skipper KL Rahul might as well bring De Kock for the PBKS clash. While nothing is confirmed from the LSG camp, Rahul will have a big headache to choose between two power hitters in Mayers and South African star. Like Mayers, De Kock is an attacking batter and can take the game away from the opponents within in a blink of an eye. The southpaw also was the second-highest run-scorer for LSG last season plundering 508 runs in 15 matches. The South African is in good form in T20Is as he recently slammed a 43-ball century.
LSG vs PBKS: Headache for LSG skipper KL Rahul, will De Kock finally get in the playing XI against PBKS?
Apart from dropping Mayers, skipper Rahul does not have the option to drop any of the remaining three foreign players. Mark Wood is the highest wicket-taker for LSG scalping nine wickets, while Nicholas Pooran has the highest strike rate for LSG, scoring 141 runs at 220.31. Marcus Stoinis is also in good form, as he scored a blazing fifty in the last match against RCB. The Australian Star also provides a bowling option to Rahul.
For now, De Kock can come in place only of Mayers, but if Rahul does not want to tinker with the winning combination, then the wicketkeeper batter will have to wait for chances. LSG are off to a flying start in IPL 2023 season winning three games out of four played. Their only loss came against CSK.
