Chasing a target of 169, Mumbai Indians faltered after a decent start. After Ishan Kishan was dismissed in a bizarre fashion, Dewald Brevis, Suryakumar Yadav and Rohit Sharma followed suit.
Kieron Pollard and Tilak Varma kept Mumbai Indians’ hopes alive with a 57-run stand but they failed to attack LSG bowlers. Krunal Pandya was exceptional with 3/19. Pollard managed just 19 while Varma scored 38. In the end, MI fell short by 36 runs to extend their losing run to 8 matches.

Earlier, sent to bat, KL Rahul tamed Mumbai Indians bowling attack once again, smashing his third century and second consecutive against the same opponent. Rahul was the lone ranger as his effort helped LSG post 168/6.
Sent to bat, LSG struggled to score with Mumbai Indians bowlers bowling tight lines. While KL Rahul was off to a slow start, he stepped up as Manish Pandey, Krunal Pandya, Deepak Hooda all found it difficult to get going. Rahul smashed 103 off 62 to help LSG post 168.
