Lionel Scaloni still believes that Messi can contribute a lot to the Argentina team. He believes, Messi only needs to be comfortable and happy whichever club he joins next. If he remains happy, his form for the national team will not falter. Scaloni said, “Let him go to where he will feel comfortable with his teammates and the club’s fans. The matter does not affect us as a national team as long as he’s happy when he joins us and we need him to be happy.”

Leo Messi left his childhood club Barcelona back in 2021 and joined PSG. He had a 2-year contract with PSG which is coming to an end on June, 2023. PSG offered the Argentine contract extension offers which were rejected by Messi. Since then, there have been rumours about his next destination. The most likely places that are thought as his next club could be his move back to Barcelona, a move to the MLS club Inter Miami co-owned by David Beckham, or the Saudi club Al-Hilal.

Messi is Saudi’s tourism ambassador and for that purpose, he had to travel to Saudi recently. However, he had to reschedule his trip twice. After PSG’s defeat to Lorient on April 30, Messi figured he would have an off-day like usual. Hence, he rescheduled that trip to Saudi on that off day. However, PSG’s schedule changed that day to include a training session that Messi could not attend. This led to a two-week suspension from PSG and sparked Messi’s move to Saudi more.

However, after Messi made a public apology for his part in the confusion, PSG lifted the suspension after only a week. However, after the incident, rumours spread more that Saudi club Al-Hilal offered Messi £400 million. Apparently, he even already agreed to terms with them. However, Messi’s father came forward to deny everything. He also said that Messi will make his future decision only after the season ends. Qatar’s Al-Kass channel reached Lionel Scaloni following this where he expressed the importance of Messi’s happiness regarding the decision.
