Lionel Messi: Leo Messi’s highly anticipated debut in Major League Soccer (MLS) could come sooner than expected, as reports have claimed that he may feature in an All-Stars match against Arsenal on July 19. The Argentine superstar, who recently confirmed his move to Inter Miami following his departure from Paris Saint-Germain, is set to join the Florida-based team once his contract expires at the end of this month.

According to The Sun, there is a possibility that Messi’s debut for Inter Miami could take place in the MLS All-Stars fixture against English Premier League side Arsenal at Audi Field in Washington DC on July 19. The All-Stars team will be managed by former Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney, who will select 12 MLS players, potentially including Messi, for his 26-man squad. The remaining players will be chosen through a combination of fan, media, and player votes, with two additional spots selected by league commissioner Don Garber.

The anticipation surrounding Messi’s arrival in the United States is palpable, with ticket prices for the Cruz Azul match experiencing a staggering increase of 1,034% since the announcement of his move to Inter Miami. The most expensive ticket listed for the game is an astonishing $20,701 (£16,000).

Messi recently made headlines while on international duty, scoring the fastest goal of his career in just 79 seconds during Argentina’s friendly match against Australia.

The World Cup winner is now headed for a holiday and will join his new club in Miami next month.

Messi is coming to MLS after a remarkable career in Europe. With his two-year stint with PSG, Messi scored 32 goals and providing 35 assists in 75 appearances across all competitions.

Before his time in Paris, Messi enjoyed an illustrious career at Barcelona, where he won an astonishing 35 trophies and scored a remarkable 672 goals in 778 games.
