Messi went down clutching his knee and it looked like a really bad one. On close inspection, you could also see there his knee was bleeding due to the impact of the collision with both players. Messi was down for a while and that was quite a scare. Luckily though, he got up soon after and everyone could breathe a sigh of relief.

Messi had no problems or discomfort after the tackle too. He went on to score in the 89th minute of the game and also notched up 800 career goals, which is a feat only managed by Cristiano Ronaldo so far. Messi also has 98 goals for Argentina and would be looking for two more goals to turn it into a century in their next clash.
