He has vowed to bring Lionel Messi, back to India for a game, expressing his gratitude and love for the fans.

A large crowd of fans flocked to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport. It was to catch a glimpse of the Argentine World Cup hero. During his visit, he attended two public events at Milan Mela Prangan and the Mohun Bagan tent.

On another day, at Sreebhumi Sporting Club, Martinez made a promise to the Kolkata crowd . He assured them that he will bring Lionel Messi back to India to play in the tri-color nation.

Messi had previously visited Kolkata in 2011 when he played for Argentina in a FIFA international friendly against Venezuela. Remarkably, that match marked Messi’s debut as the captain of the Argentina national team. Despite not scoring himself, Messi captivated the packed Salt Lake Stadium with his exceptional skills. He contributed an assist from a corner kick, leading to Nicolas Otamendi’s winning header. The three-time World Champions emerged victorious with a 1-0 scoreline.
