Life has come fast and in full circle for Mukesh Kumar. After traveling with the team and warming benches, Mukesh Kumar has now gone on to make his debut for the Men in Blue across all three formats of the game. And most importantly, all these debuts across formats have taken place in the ongoing India Tour of West Indies series.

Mukesh Kumar made his Test debut in the 2nd Test after Shardul Thakur pulled out with a left groin injury. Though the match ended in a draw after the rain played spoilsport, a happy Mukesh was handsomely rewarded with a couple of wickets. Up next came his debut in the one-days when he starred for India in the 1st ODI at Kensington Oval.

And lastly, comes his debut in the shortest format of the game. Mukesh Kumar along with Tilak Verma will now don the Blue jersey for India in the 1st T20I game against West Indies.

But it wasn’t the start that Mukesh Kumar expected on his T20I debut as he got hammered early on. Bowling to Brandon King he got smacked for two consecutive boundaries as the Caribbean side is keen to showcase their mark in the series. Mukesh Kumar eventually gave away 9 runs on his first over.

Mukesh Kumar’s career fast-tracked after he was bought by Delhi Capitals in IPL 2023 for big bucks. He was then drafted into the Indian side but had to wait for his debut for quite sometime after warming the benches.

As for West Indies, the hosts have started the game on an aggressive front. After losses in the Test and ODI series, the Caribbean side is out for blood and will be eyeing to win the 5-match T20I series.
