The FIA has introduced rules that restrict drivers from wearing jewellery this year, including earrings, rings and nose studs. Hamilton, however, is known to be a fashion junkie and is often spotted wearing loads of jewellery. He is not planning to abide by the rules as the Brit has clearly said “No (about whether he will follow the rules). I got an exemption here (Miami) and I will get exemptions for the rest of the year. Wedding rings are allowed. I will wear four watches next time. This whole safety thing, man.”

“When the FIA told me about the jewellery, they said safety is everything. And I said, Well, what’s happened over the last 16 years? I’ve had jewellery for the last 16 years, so was safety not an issue back then?” the Mercedes driver further added.

Are wedding rings not jewellery? Surely this is no longer a “stand-off,” but a straight on targeted attack. pic.twitter.com/VFxJNEAvC0

Hamilton has challenged the rules up until this point this season and is determined to keep wearing his jewellery. The Mercedes star was allowed a two-race clinical exception at Miami and Barcelona.

Meanwhile, when the Monaco GP rolls around towards the month’s end, Hamilton should be without bling or face the outcomes. If Hamilton is seen wearing the jewellery again, he could be imposed a major fine or be given penalty points by the FIA.
However, it appears to be potential discipline isn’t sufficient to change Hamilton’s position with the driver staying as rebellious as he could. The Brit showed up at his Miami press conference wearing three watches and a ring on each finger, as well as his typical piercings.
Drivers can be fined £42,000 for wearing gems and repeat offences could see that number ascent to £215,000.
