For this section, Ryan Mireles, who is the Lead of the Champions team at Riot Games, took over. He told that there will be lesser Champion releases this year so that the ones that come out are more fleshed out and suitable for gameplay. Still, the middle lane will see more champions for it.
The first champion for this year is Zeri from Zaum. She is a hyperactive neon-colored ADC for the bottom lane. She is a unique champion as her Q ability will be similar to the auto-attack of other marksmen, while her auto-attack will be considered as a skill in-game.
“I stood up for my community. I can stand up for others too.” 💚
Run fast, charge up, shoot the bad guys. Zeri, the Spark of Zaun, surges onto the Rift in patch 12.2! ⚡️

The second champion that will be released in 2022 will be enchanter support. Contrary to the cute-looking and happy enchanter supports in the game, this one will have a more dark and sinister kit. We can guess that it will be a female champion as Ryan announced told “my Empress” during a bit of mimicking.
