While it was confirmed earlier, Guinness World Record has finally approved IPL 2022 Final at Motera Stadium for the largest crowd world record. A world record 1,01,566 people attended the final on May 30. With that, Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium broke MCG in Melbourne’s world record for largest attendance in a T20 match. In the IPL 2022 final, Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat Titans beat Rajasthan Royals by 7 wickets to clinch their maiden IPL title. Narendra Modi Stadium will be the home of Gujarat Titans in IPL 2023 campaign.

The Narendra Modi Stadium had a capacity of just 49,000 before its renovation. In 2021, the revamped Narendra Modi Stadium became world’s largest cricket stadium by capacity. With a capacity of 132,000, the stadium can break another record next year. India host the ICC World Cup 2023 and Narendra Modi Stadium is the favourite to host the final.
If India reach the final, expect the stadium to be full to the brink at 1,32,000.
