La Liga: Barcelona’s Sergio Aguero responds to retirement rumours – Sergio Aguero is contemplating hanging up his boots after undergoing a heart problem while playing for Barcelona recently with the problem worse than first expected which could force the striker into retirement. Earlier, the Argentine was said to be out for 3 months due to the same problem but it appears more serious now.

The Barcelona forward has been forced to take a three month break after doctors at Camp Nou confirmed an irregular heartbeat for the forward late in October. But now the veteran striker has taken to his Twitter account to insist that there has been no firm answers to the stopping of his career just yet, with a decision to be taken in February.

In the tweet he said: “Given the rumours I will tell you that following advice from the club doctors, I will do further tests and treatment and see what my progress is in 90 days. Always positive.”

During Barcelona’s home game against Alaves last month, summer signing Sergio Aguero was forced off 42 minutes into his first home start for the club last due to breathing difficulties. The former Manchester City star was in great discomfort by the end of the first half, he threw himself to the ground after clashing with an Alaves player. The club officials rushed the Argentine to the hospital as soon as possible.

What happened to Aguero? Aguero went down clutching the top of his chest and received treatment for several minutes before being helped off the pitch just before half-time.

An ambulance was called and Aguero was immediately taken to hospital. The calming thing for fans was that Aguero was seen standing on his feet instead of being stretchered off.

Barcelona later confirmed he was admitted to the hospital to have a “cardiac exam”.
