Mbappe transfer: Kylian Mbappe signed a one-year deal with PSG last summer with the option of extending the contract for another year. There have been rumours that he could be leaving the French club. With interest still coming from Real Madrid there was still a chance that he could move to Spain this transfer window. However, after winning the 4th Ligue 1 Trophy with PSG, Mbappe confirmed that he is not leaving and will honour his contract till the end. Follow Ligue 1 LIVE Updates on InsideSport.IN.

Real Madrid have been trying to sign Kylian Mbappe since last year. It was almost certain that after spending 3 years at PSG, Mbappe was ready to leave for Spain. At that moment, the star forward signed with PSG for another season with an option to extend for another year. PSG also signed Lionel Messi 2 years ago along with Sergio Ramos. The two stars from Barcelona and Real Madrid joined an already star-studded squad. That contained Mbappe, Neymar, Marco Verratti, and more who had one goal of winning the Champions League.

The incredible team has won back-to-back two Ligue 1 titles and even a French Super Cup. However, they still have not succeeded in their endeavour of acquiring the Champions League trophy. As the season comes to an end, Leo Messi has made it clear that he will be leaving PSG. There is no confirmation as to where he might join next. In the wake of this, many started doubting the future of other players at PSG as well. Neymar has also been rumoured to be heading out of PSG this summer.

Real Madrid are still pursuing Mbappe, so people have been curious about whether Mbappe will remain at PSG or not. Along with winning the Ligue 1 title, Mbappe has also won the Ligue 1 Player of the Year Award for the fourth time. When reporters asked him about his future at the UNFP award functions, he affirmed to the fans that his future is still at PSG. He said, “I am here to talk about the trophy. Next season I’ll be playing at PSG. I have one year left on my contract and I’m going to honour my contract.”

On the other hand, Leo Messi might not have confirmed his next destination. He still has been seen spending a lot of time in Barcelona. While Mbappe was receiving his award and confirming his stance with PSG at the UNFP ceremonies, Messi was seen enjoying a Coldplay concert with friends in Barcelona. Many Barcelona fans even started chanting his name at the concert. Thus, revealing their crystal clear wishes that they want to see the World Cup winner back in a Blaugrana shirt.

On the other hand, PSG will keep trying to win the Champions League on the back of their still incredible star-studded squad. However, they will probably get rid of coach Christophe Galtier who has had a few bumps in the road this season. He still managed to help PSG win another league title and he believes he can do better.

He said, “I deserve a second season at Paris Saint-Germain! I repeat it once again because no one wants to hear it but it was a very special season. We had to stay the course even when we thought everyone had their heads under water. I pay tribute to my players who have not given up. I am very happy and I don’t want us to trivialise [Ligue 1 win].
