Kylian Mbappe Injury:  PSG vs Bayern Munich: Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe,  returned to training on Sunday, raising new hopes that he would be able to play against Bayern Munich in UEFA Champions League. Despite not staying with the team the entire time, Mbappe took part in the team’s collective session, according to the sports daily L’Equipe on Sunday. On February 1, Mbappe sustained a hamstring injury, and PSG announced that he would miss three weeks of play. Lionel Messi looked to recover in time as well. Follow Ligue 1 LIVE on InsideSport.IN.

According to L’Equipe, Mbappe joined a small group of PSG players as the remainder of the team participated in a recuperation session. However, the forward was only partially active and his participation was very limited during the entire session. However, his participation offers the possibility of him playing in Tuesday’s first leg of the club’s round of 16 Champions League match against Bayern Munich, a match he had previously been ruled out of. He will undoubtedly be needed by the Ligue 1 leaders after Mbappe was benched in yesterday’s defeat by Monaco as a feeble PSG team.

Christophe Galtier, the PSG manager, had rejected the idea that Mbappe would be available for Bayern.  After the Monaco match, he stated in a press conference, “I don’t think Mbappé will play.” We’re not taking a chance on him because there are other matches. We wish him a speedy recovery.”

Prior to a few days ago, PSG appeared to be experiencing an injury crisis, but things have since changed. While Mbappe’s availability will be essential, Lionel Messi, Marco Verratti, and Presenel Kimpebe are all very close to reaching full fitness. Bayern Munich and PSG are preparing for their tantalising UEFA Champions League matchup. On February 14, the first leg of the two European heavyweights’ Round of 16 match is scheduled to begin.

Christophe Galtier will be worried about his team’s performance going into the game, though. Since the beginning of the year, Les Parisiens have only prevailed in five of their ten games in all competitions. The Parisians were famously eliminated from the Coupe de France on Wednesday, February 8 after losing 2-1 to Olympique Marseille. Two days later, they lost to AS Monaco in Ligue 1 by a score of 3-1.
