IPL 2023, RCB vs LSG – Kohli vs Gambhir: After RCB’s victory on Sunday, a bombastic social media post from the Lucknow Super Giants generated a surprising ‘Eliminator’ request from supporters of both sides. With their massive 112-run victory in Jaipur on Sunday, Royal Challengers Bangalore undoubtedly have put a strong foot forward towards the IPL playoffs. RCB surged back in a spectacular manner from their position in the bottom half of the standings with a negative net run rate of 0.3 to No 5 on the table with NRR on the positive side.

With six victories and as many losses in 12 games, RCB was in fifth place in the points table after the conclusion of the doubleheader on Sunday. They are now only one point behind LSG in fourth place.

The team still has two games left, one of which is at home, albeit against the defending champion Gujarat Titans, giving RCB a chance to make the playoffs once more after the victory in Jaipur.

RCB will finish with 16 points if they grab two victories, which might secure them a spot in the playoffs if other circumstances in the final nine league games work in their favour. However, after LSG tweeted about RCB’s victory, most social media users suggested that fans want a “Eliminator” tie between RCB and LSG.

There is much evidence to support the desire of supporters for an RCB vs. LSG match. At the Chinnaswamy last month, LSG upset RCB in the first match, and Gautam Gambhir, the Lucknow team’s coach, erupted in jubilation while making a silent gesture towards the spectators.

On May 1 in Lucknow, Virat Kohli returned the favour in style, but there was more off-field activity throughout the game.

The Ekana Stadium witnessed an ugly incident when Kohli and LSG’s Naveen-ul-Haq got into a furious argument during the game. Later, Kohli and Gambhir got into a fight.
