India star KL Rahul is set to marry his long-time girlfriend after the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 and the wedding will take place in Maharashtra.
“KL has asked for some personal time off. That is why he is not playing in New Zealand. He does not have any injury concerns or a break. He has some family commitments. I am not aware if he is getting married or engaged but yes, he has some personal commitment is what I can tell you,” a BCCI official has revealed.

Rahul and Athiya have been dating for a long while and the Bolly actor was also seen with KL on a few tours of India. Athiya is the daughter of famous Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty, who has also confirmed their relationship many times.
Currently, KL Rahul is a part of Team India’s side which is taking part in the T20 WC 2022.
Talking about on the field, KL Rahul is currently not up to his best in T20 WC. India’s tense five-run win over Bangladesh in their men’s T20 World Cup Group 2 match at Adelaide Oval saw KL Rahul put a full stop to a string of single-digit scores in the tournament with an elegant 32-ball 50 to bounce back in form.
Rahul’s knock was decorated with three fours and four sixes at a strike-rate of 156.25. He showcased high quality shots in a knock full of poise and composure.
