Big boost for Rohit Sharma & Co, KL Rahul to join Asia Cup 2023 squad tomorrow

KL Rahul has been adjudged fit by NCA. But he will not play in India vs Nepal Asia Cup 2023 match.

In a very big boost to Team India, KL Rahul will soon join the Men in Blue squad for the Asia Cup 2023. The star middle-order batter will link with Rohit Sharma & Co most probably tomorrow (September 4).

KL Rahul has been adjudged fit by NCA and he will now replace Sanju Samson in the India squad for the ODI World Cup 2023.

Rahul was chosen in the World Cup 2023 squad after receiving the all-clear from the medical staff and being evaluated for fitness by the selection committee.

KL Rahul spent several hours batting and hitting the nets at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. According to reports, he will go to Sri Lanka soon to join the India team competing in the Asia Cup 2023.

Because it had till September 5 to submit its final ODI World Cup 2023 team to the International Cricket Council (ICC), the BCCI planned to keep its selection committee in session that on evening of September 4.

However, it is claimed that the BCCI selectors decided there was no point in wasting time once the medical experts gave KL Rahul the all-clear.

KL Rahul missed the last three and a half months of the India Team due to surgery on his right thigh. He has frequently been in the starting lineup and is most likely to do so again during the World Cup in 2023.

Ajit Agarkar, the head of the selection committee, met with Indian captain Rohit Sharma and coach Rahul Dravid in Sri Lanka before deciding on the World Cup 2023 squad.

According to the Indian Express, this meeting took place after the India vs Pakistan Asia Cup 2023 match in Kandy which was abandoned after the first innings.

The India Team World Cup squad omitted Sanju Samson, Tilak Varma, and Prasidh Krishna, who are currently in Sri Lanka for the Asia Cup 2023.
