Initially, KL Rahul was expected to be available for the West Indies tour, but Karnataka batter will need complete rest for around two months.
“His surgery was successful. Now, he will need to rest for couple of months. We expected him to return for West Indies Tour. But it looks very unlikely. He will need complete rest and might come back for Asia Cup,” sources close to KL Rahul told InsideSport.

India are scheduled to play three ODIs and five T20Is in the tour of West Indies, starting July 22. The Asia Cup is scheduled to start from August 27.
However, Rahul is expected to start his initial phase of rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy after a few days of rest. His selection availability for the Asia Cup will also depend on how his recovery period goes in Bengaluru.
“He will be resting for a few days and then his physical rehabilitation will start at the NCA. That will take a few weeks before he starts with his regular net session. Let’s see if he can make a comeback in the Asia Cup. But that could be touch and go,” a BCCI source told PTI.
In fact, Rahul has not played any international cricket since leading Lucknow Super Giants against Royal Challengers in an IPL match in May.
