KKR vs RCB: Kolkata Knight Riders signed explosive English batter Jason Roy on Wednesday for Indian Premier League 2023 (IPL 2023). However, the Englishman is not yet available for KKR as missed the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). From his base price of INR 1.5 crore, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have paid INR 2.8 crore to acquire England’s Jason Roy for the IPL 2023.

Due to a lower back ailment, Shreyas Iyer has been forced to withdraw from IPL 2023, and Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has announced that he would not be playing this year.
Roy last played for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2021 season. Roy has previously appeared in the 2017 and 2018 seasons. He participated in five games in 2021 and scored 150 runs, including a half-century. The 32-year-old has participated in 64 T20 Internationals for England, recording 8 fifties and 1522 runs at a S/R of 137.61.

Roy won’t be able to play in KKR’s upcoming game against RCB.
Prior to KKR’s game against the Gujarat Titans on Sunday, the right-hander will travel directly to Ahmedabad and there will join the rest of the team.

Roy will have a fantastic opportunity during this IPL to turn around his patchy performance and position himself as a contender for a spot in England’s 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup squad. This year, England will defend their 50-over title in India from October through November.
This year, he also played in the Pakistan Super League 2023 (PSL), where he amassed 245 runs in seven innings at an average of 40.83, including one century and the league’s best score of 145*.
