KKR vs RCB Head-To-Head: The past record in numbers
The rivalry between Kolkata and Bangalore is one of the league’s most well-known. The two franchises have played 31 games against each other. The Knight Riders lead the head-to-head record with 17 victories, while the Royal Challengers have won 14 times.
The first match between the two IPL powerhouses was played in 2008, and it was the first game in the league’s history. Brendon McCullum thrashed the RCB bowling lineup in that game, scoring 158 runs off only 73 balls. Kolkata amassed a massive total of 222 runs. Bangalore was bowled out for 82 runs, and KKR won the game by 140 runs.
Up until 2016, both teams had a nine-game winning streak. However, after 2016, Kolkata won eight of thirteen games. The last time the two teams met was in the IPL 2022, which RCB won by three wickets. The match between RCB and KKR on April 6 is one of the most anticipated of the season.
Eden Gardens has always been a tough ground for the opposition to conquer in the past IPL seasons. Kolkata knows the conditions well, and use it for their advantage. Bangalore, on the other hand would look to continue their good outings against Kolkata at the Eden. Which team will come out on top?
