Makhachev was sitting at a respectable -280 odds to hold onto his title by the end of 2023 around that time.
So long as he doesn’t get hurt, Makhachev’s comeback defence at UFC 294 in Abu Dhabi appeared to be a lock. Even if it did, he wouldn’t fight before then and most definitely wouldn’t get rebooked until 2024.
