Khabib Nurmagomedov Called ‘Cheater’ By His Own Coach In AKA

The man renowned for his unwavering discipline and authenticity, Khabib Nurmagomedov, found himself playfully labeled a "cheater" by his own coach, Javier Mendez.

Khabib Nurmagomedov: UFC News: Although Khabib Nurmagomedov retired two years ago, during his active fighting days, he was a true powerhouse, seldom losing rounds and maintaining an undefeated record. This can be attributed to his dedicated coaches and his unwavering discipline throughout his career as he never cheated while training. However, a recent video has surfaced online showing Khabib seemingly taking shortcuts during his workout, prompting his coach, Javier Mendez, to call him out. Let’s delve into the specifics to get the full picture of the situation.

Javier Mandez Called Khabib Nurmagomedov “Cheater”

The video dates back two years, capturing a time when Khabib Nurmagomedov had just retired from professional sports. In the footage, the Dagestan Fighters Team can be seen energetically running uphill. Where the fighters like Islam Makhachev and the current crop of UFC Dagestan athletes were putting in serious effort during their rigorous road training.

During which, since Khabib retired, he has taken on the role of a coach under the guidance of Javier Mendez. Interestingly, Khabib leverages his coaching status to ride a mountain bike rather than jog like the other fighters. It appears that once you ascend to the senior coaching position, you’re allowed to lead from the metaphorical driver’s seat, a practice reminiscent of Javier Mendez’s approach. In light of the fact Mendez was also driving, not jogging.

In the video, as the rest of the team continues jogging uphill, Khabib’s coach playfully labels him a “cheater” for opting to ride a bicycle instead. It’s a lighthearted jab, highlighting the contrast between Khabib’s use of a bicycle and the traditional cardio effort put in by his teammates as Mendez guides the team up the hill.

Since his retirement, Khabib’s training regimen appears to have become less intense, reflecting the shift in his fighter’s lifestyle. No longer engaged in active competition, he seems to have eased up on his training routine. This is evident as he’s seen indulging in meals and cakes. It’s important to note that while he hasn’t completely abandoned training, he has adjusted it to align with what’s necessary for his current phase, focusing on what’s required rather than maintaining the rigorous approach of his fighting days.
