Juventus: The 2022-23 footballing season is coming to an end, but drama still ensues in Serie A. Juventus got 15 points deducted in the middle of the season and their position in the Serie A table dropped significantly. With an appeal to the decision, they got the points back. However, now it seems the Federal Court of appeal turned that decision around. Now Juventus lose the chance to compete in European competition next year once more as 10 points from them have been deducted again. Follow Serie A LIVE Updates on InsideSport.IN.

The season has not gone well for Juventus. However that has not been the problem on the pitch, more on the management and legal side of the club. Juventus were accused of false accounting and financial irregularities in their past transfer dealings or ‘plusvalenza’. Back in January, when the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) found them guilty, Juventus got 15 points deducted from the Serie A table. Juventus suddenly found themselves dropping to the middle of the table.

They were 3rd in the Serie A table when they got their points deducted. They fell down to 10th position and suddenly had the challenge to climb up to qualify for next year’s European competition. They appealed the decision and after 4 months in April, they got the 15 points back temporarily. However a new trial was awaiting them and because of that, the danger of those points getting deducted again was looming over their heads. Now their fear has come true as now the Federal Court Of Appeal has deducted 10 points again.

At this stage of the season with only two games left for the club to play there is no hope for them to make a comeback. Prior to this decision, they were 2nd in the league table. Now, they have fallen to 7th position and if this decision remains, they will be out of all European competitions next season. This will have significant economic and sporting consequences for the club. Now, their only hope remains to appeal the decision again in the court.
