Manchester City AGREE personal terms with defender, talks with Leipzig to ENTER advanced stage

Manchester City have agreed to all terms with Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol. Both parties will now enter the advanced stages of transfer talks next week.

Josko Gvardiol Transfer: Manchester City have had their eyes on Leipzig star Josko Gvardiol for some time now. They started to bring in the talented defender back in May. Since then, they have made some progress in the matter. Man City have already agreed personal terms with Gvardiol. Now, they are in the stage of advancing talks with the club. Reportedly, they will offer £77 million for Gvardiol. However, Leipzig want at least £86-100 million for their ace. However, chances are, both parties will soon agree on terms.

Leipzig are ready to ask for at least £86-100 million for Josko Gvardiol. Reportedly, Man City have already agreed personal terms with the player. They only need to agree terms with Leipzig now and that could be done soon. As per the transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the two parties will now start their next stage of transfer talks. They will enter the advanced stages and Man City will register a new bid. They will keep working with Leipzig in the next week.

There is a chance that both clubs will come to a conclusion to agree terms for the player. As per reports, Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola holds the player highly in his regard. He wants to bring in the player as soon as possible. If Man City agree to pay over £86 million for the player, it would be a new world record fee for a defender. The current record is held by Harry Maguire who came to Manchester United on a record £80 million transfer fee.

Manchester City might be losing their defenders Aymeric Laporte and Kyle Walker. Walker became an important part of the Man City team last season that won the treble. However, Laporte started only 11 games for Man City in the Premier League. Hence, he could be leaving the club this transfer window. As a replacement, Man City have set their eyes on the talented Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol. They started to pursue the player in May, before the previous season even ended.

Gvardiol’s performance attracted several clubs prior to the opening of this transfer window. One of them was Liverpool who had one of their worst seasons last year under their current coach Jurgen Klopp. Thanks to their season-end winning streak, they still ended the season in the 5th position in the Premier League table. They are looking to rebuild their team ahead of the next season. As a result, they targeted Gvardiol. However, considering the amount Leipzig are about to ask, Liverpool will be in a difficult situation.

Manchester City are set to present £77 million for the player. They won the treble last season. This means they have won a lot of money from winning the Premier League, the FA Cup, and the Champions League. Several of their current team players might be leaving this transfer window. Hence, Man City will be collecting money from the sales as well. Hence, they will have enough money to spend on replacements and newcomers. Knowing all the factors, Leipzig will not be easy during negotiations.
