Jos Buttler Press Conference HIGHLIGHTS

  • Dawid Malan and Mark Wood are both improving and this game will give them all the chances possible. To play a World Cup final is a great honour. We start fresh tomorrow ahead of very strong opponent.
  • There is huge excitement for the match. But it doesn’t count for anything because we have to start afresh.
  • We played them a lot recently but that was in different conditions. We know that we are up against an Amazing team.
  • There are loads of chances. There is always plenty to play for. Playing across a different era. Certainly, we would try to make things happen. There is a bit of new direction as well.
  • These are the kind of things you would like to do. There is no difference tomorrow but of course it is.
  • Sport is so huge in all parts of the world. We saw a glimpse of that in 2019 with Trafalgar Square being packed. We would hope for something like that.
  • We have a huge amount of talent in our group.
  • Certainly enjoyed captaincy. From a player, my journey has been amazing. In terms of results. I feel like I am growing in the role.
  • Any experience that you draw good or bad. There are little things that happen. I think whether it is World Cup final or any match. We just want to have a normal game of cricket and we would not like to think too much about the weather.
  • I think nature and schedule of World Cup cricket is something that teams must lookout.
  • Obviously Pakistan is a fantastic team and they have a history of producing great fast bowlers. Some of the guys’ in the current team will go as the best Pakistani bowlers ever.
  • The Ireland Match was disappointing and to see ourselves get here is amazing.

Jos Buttler Press Conference: After sealing a 10-wicket mauling over India, England will face off against Pakistan in a blockbuster final at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday. Following the success in Adelaide, the England team have now arrived in the Victorian Capital city on Friday.

England will be featuring in their 3rd T20 World Cup final, having won in 2010 and lost in the 2016 WC final in Eden Gardens.

England’s massive 10-wicket win against India has helped them in setting up a T20 World Cup final clash against Pakistan. Both teams finished second from their respective groups in the Super 12s and their chances of securing a semi-final spot at one stage looked very unlikely.

But both sides made a terrific comeback not only to reach the semis but also to go all the way to the finals. The two teams last met in a World Cup final in 1992, which Pakistan won. England will be looking to set the record straight now by lifting the trophy at the iconic MCG in Melbourne.
